ISSUES

"School is my favorite place to be, but I know that’s not the case for everyone. As the only active K-12 teacher serving on the Board, I am committed to making our schools a place where everyone feels they belong, and are provided the support they need to succeed."

Burbank Unified School Board President Emily Weisberg

Our schools must operate on a foundation of financial stability. By ensuring the sourcing of additional revenue streams, responsible budgeting and transparent allocation of resources, we can provide our students with the highest quality education without compromising our fiscal health.

FISCAL GROWTH & SUSTAINABILITY

Now, more than ever, we need to invest in all aspects of student success. Emily will prioritize, and invest in, student mental health and wellness in order for our students to thrive and succeed.

STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS

Our students deserve to feel represented, safe, and supported in their schools. It’s our responsibility to provide an equitable foundation for every student. Emily will continue to champion policies that close achievement gaps, and ensure all students have the tools they need to thrive.

EQUITY & INCLUSION

Burbank Unified remains one of the best districts in the state, with families constantly moving to the city to enroll in BUSD. It’s important to maintain our high quality of education and academic standards while also providing a diverse range of educational opportunities in order for students to pursue a wide variety of life and career paths.

QUALITY EDUCATION & OPPORTUNITY

Supporting teachers and staff is crucial for the success of our schools. Providing fair compensation, professional development opportunities, and a supportive work environment, empowers teachers and staff to perform at their best. Emily is committed to advocating for competitive salaries and benefits that reflect their invaluable contributions to our students’ success.

SUPPORTING TEACHERS, STAFF, AND STUDENTS

Safe schools ensure that students, teachers, and staff feel secure and supported, free from violence, bullying, and other threats. By prioritizing safety, we foster an atmosphere that encourages academic achievement, emotional well-being, and community trust. Ensuring robust safety measures and protocols is essential for protecting our most valuable assets: our students and the men and women who support them.
